The 2014 FIFA World Cup will be held in Brazil

 

Of course we know that Brazil will now host the 2014 World Cup, and despite this being some way-off , not least 4 years after South Africa hosts the 2010 version – there is plenty of interest around the world dedicated to the 2014 Samba Spectacle!

 

Out of interest , here are the 10 written guarantees the Federal Government in Brazil had to give to FIFA prior to being awarded the right to host:

 

 

1 – To ensure the right of entry and exit (of Brazilian territory), until December 31st, 2014, unconditionally and without any restriction, and without consideration of nationality, race and religion, for all members of the delegation of FIFA, the confederations officials; officials of the national associations of the participating countries; official of games, teams of staff members and business partners; transmission networks, agencies transmission rights and personal transmission networks; partners of retail goods and FIFA; suppliers of accommodation, tickets for the FIFA’s partners and partners of the suppliers of technology, partners and suppliers of hospitality, representatives of the media; spectators in possession of tickets and all individuals who can demonstrate involvement in the competition.


2 - Ensure that work permits are issued and valid unconditionally, without delay and without consideration of nationality, race or creed to competitors, delegations, delegates of FIFA and partners of the entity required to achieve the competitions (the Confederations Cup and World Cup).


3 - Ensure the import and, subsequent, export (if applicable) of any goods for use in connection with the competitions, free of taxes.


4 - Ensure special treatment with respect to all taxes and charges.


5 - Ensure that the Organizing Committee implement all security measures for  officials and partners of FIFA, in addition to spectators.


6 - Ensure the unrestricted import and export of all currencies in U.S. dollars, euros and Swiss francs to individuals and entities with respect to financial transactions linked to competitions.


7 - To provide priority treatment to all members of the delegation from FIFA, officials of the confederations, officers' associations of countries participating in competitions, games and teams of officers and members of delegations.


8 - Ensure that measures are implemented at least 12 months before the start of the Confederations Cup-2013, as law prohibiting covert marketing by association in relation to competition and / or FIFA and unauthorized use of any intellectual property of FIFA for competitions.


9 - Ensure that the national anthem of each participating country can be played before any game or any ceremony or event in competition as well as the national flag of a participating country can be up and displayed inside the grounds.


10 - Ensure that FIFA and its representatives will be compensated for losses, by threats and processes that violate the Sediar agreement document (another document of 92 pages that make up the Tender Specifications).
